# getUserPolicyParameters

> Reads a user's values for one policy's adjustable parameters, with the declarations and current revision.

## Import

Call this method on a server-side ParaRestClient created with your server secret key.

```ts theme={null}
import { ParaRestClient } from "@getpara/rest-sdk";
```

async

Reads a user's values for one policy's adjustable parameters, with the declarations and current revision.

Copy method signature

### Returns

[`Promise<PermissionsV2UserParameterView>`](/v3/references/types/permissions#permissionsv2userparameterview)

The parameter declarations, the user's values and the revision.

## Route

A `needs_confirmation` status means the stored values belong to an earlier policy version. The user confirms them by saving again. Your backend cannot change the values.

```text theme={null}
GET /v1/permissions-v2/users/{userId}/user-parameters/{policyId}
```

## Example

The returned view includes parameter declarations and the user's values or confirmation state.

```ts theme={null}
const settings = await para.getUserPolicyParameters(userId, policyId);
```

## Errors

A non-success response throws `ParaRestError` with the HTTP `status`, the error `code` and a `message`. [Permissions errors](/v3/references/permissions/errors) lists every error code.

An empty path argument throws `ParaRestValidationError` before the request is sent.

| Status | Code | When |
| - | - | - |
| 400 | `INVALID_REQUEST` | `userId` is not a UUID. |
| 403 | `FORBIDDEN` | The user has no wallet connected to your app, or the policy targets other users or another app. |
| 403 | `PERMISSIONS_V2_EXTENSION_UNAVAILABLE` | Adjustable parameters are not enabled for your API key. Contact Para to enable them. |
| 404 | `NOT_FOUND` | The policy has no adjustable parameters for this user. |
