# ParaEthersV5Signer.signMessage

> Signs an EIP-191 message with the selected Para wallet.

Signs an EIP-191 message with the selected Para wallet.

### Returns

`Promise<string>`

A 0x-prefixed signature.

## Import

```ts theme={null}
import type { Para as ParaServer } from '@getpara/server-sdk';
import { ParaEthersV5Signer } from '@getpara/ethers-v5-integration';
```

## Usage

```ts theme={null}
declare const para: ParaServer; // An authenticated Para Server client with a loaded EVM wallet.
const signer = new ParaEthersV5Signer(para);
const signature = await signer.signMessage('Hello from Para');
```

## Limitations

The message is hashed with ethers before Para signs it.
