estimateFee

Estimates the fee for a supported transfer.

Call this method on a server-side ParaRestClient.

EVM estimates use the same current RPC fee recommendations as transfer() with omitted fees, including headroom for EIP-1559 fee caps and recent paid tips when available. Estimates are advisory and can change before submission.

A higher EIP-1559 fee cap increases the quoted gas budget; actual gas usage and price can be lower. Legacy transactions pay their gasPrice for every unit of gas used, so lower gas usage can reduce the total.

The HTTP response includes EVM normal and urgent fee options, funding ceilings in wei, and quote time and block metadata. Use a direct HTTP request for these fields; the current @getpara/rest-sdk EstimateFeeResponse type does not yet expose them. See Estimate transfer fees to select an option and assess its freshness.

All REST methods can throw ParaRestError for non-success HTTP responses and ParaRestValidationError for invalid local arguments. Use ParaRestCallOptions for idempotency and cancellation.
